Checkerboard, Westmoreland   Updated 11/20/2007

A rare pattern, the pieces of which seldom come up for sale. Shown above are a pitcher in amethyst (the only color that I'm aware of) and a wine glass, tumbler, punch cup. The pitcher is courtesy of Steve Morrow, the others from the collection of Carl and Eunice Booker. Water sets have been reproduced. In addition, many other shapes have been reproduced, often with the name Old Quilt. The reproduction pieces are iridized on the base, the originals are not and the original tumblers also have ground bases.
