Custard Carnival Glass
Custard is an opaque glass a slight yellow tint--rather like, well, custard. It was treated in several ways. The Northwood Grape and Cable fruit bowl, upper left, has pastel iridescence. These are called "pearlized." In this example, gold trim was also applied around the rim. At the left is a Northwood Grape and Cable thumbprint berry bowl. This example has a brouwn stain referred to as nutmeg and a pale pastel iridescence. Above is a Fenton Prayer rug bonbon in custard. This example has marigold iridescence and this example is more vivid than most.
