| The surface of these pieces is covered with adjoining diamond shapes. The vase on the left is smoke. One in smoke sold in 2007 for $165. In 2002, a marigold 4 3/4 inch nappy listed as Heavy Diamonds brought $40. Also found in breakfast sets of a small creamer (shown) and open sugar bowl with 2 handles. They sell individually for $15 to $20.
In April of 2003, Tony Hodgson of New Zealand sent me the photo of the marigold example. Lettered on the bottom is "Waikato Winter Show 1931." The Waikato is a province in New Zealand (where Tony lives) and he reports that it is "mostly dairy farm country, and at the end of April each year there is a fair for crafts produce food all sorts of things, has got a bit commercial in modern times. There is quite a lot of EAPG and some Carnival used in this way here." | ||
