| The horse design on this pattern was based on the famous painting, Pharoh's Horses, by John Frederick Herring. The pattern is also called Horsehead Medallion. Bowls are found in both collar base and with three ball feet. The plate above is in amethyst, a rare color for this pattern. The rosebowl is red, one of two known. The one shown, the first uncovered, sold in 1995 for $8,000, and later that year another one surfaced, bringing $9,000 at auction. In 1998, one of these sold for $5,500. | |
