Australian Butterfly Bush, Butterfly and Xmas Bells, Butterfly and Flannel Flower, Butterfly and Waratah | |
There are a number of Australian butterfly patterns with much the same design. The Butterfly Bush (shown above left) has a stylized butterfly in the center and butterflies in the encircling groups of flowers. If the design has a group of bell-shaped flowers it's called Butterfly Bush and Xmas Bells. If it has a Zinnia-type flower in the middle it called Butterfly Bush and Waratah; if it has a 10-pointed flower it's called Butterfly Bush and Flannel Flower. Such patterns are valued similary. Note that these compotes may be ruffled, round or ice cream shape, or flat.
