Bashful Charlotte, September Morn, Venus Rising
Bashful Charlotte is found as both a flower frog (left), and a lamp base with a cord slot and hole for the lamp fitting (right). I don't know who made these, but some are marked with an "MI" that stands for Mirror Images, a Michigan glass maker. In blue, the frogs sell on eBay for between $40 and $75; a lavender example sold for $160. The lamp bases are found in blue, green, and milk glass and sell for $20 to $30. This is called September Morn and emulates a famous painting by that name. A vaseline example, listed as 11 inches tall, sold on eBay in 2004 for $51; another in vaseline, listed as 8 1/2 inches tall, sold for $61.
At the left is Fenton's version and is called Venus Rising as the figure appears to be arising out of a shell--again based on a famous painting. The figure is undraped and has her hands together. This example of an 8-inch bowl and 6-inch flower frog sold on eBay in 2004 for $62; a frog without the bowl sold for $127.
