Goldfish Bowl


I'd not seen this pattern before this 7 1/2-inch marigold bowl sold on eBay in 2005 for $400. The seller claimed that it's been shown in a couple of Carnival Glass publications but I've not seen them.

In 2016 a similar bowl sold for $100.

Marion Hartung does mention the pattern in her Tenth Book although her drawing is reversed from left to right and lacks some details. The pattern is apparently only on the underside of the bowl, so perhaps Marion drew it from the front with the image showing through, which would explain the reversal of the image.
