Ski Star, Dugan | ||
A unique pattern and easily remembered. Overlapping crescents form large and small stars that are heavily stippled.
There are two different versions of the Compass back pattern found on Ski Star pieces. The "berry set" pieces: large and small bowls, have collar bases. The 8 to 9-inch bowls have dome-footed bases. Midsize are often found in tricorner, banana dish, or handgrip shapes. Most Ski Star pieces have the Compass exterior. However, there are a very few large bowls with a Jeweled Heart exterior. These bowls have the unique beaded edge found on other patterns with a Jeweled Heart exterior in six-ruffle and eight-ruffle peach opal examples. See example toward bottom of page. |
