Grape and Cable Punch and Whiskey Sets, Northwood   Updated 3/21/2010

Northwood made three sizes of punch sets--or rather punch bowls and bases--the cups are all the same. All sizes of punch bowls come with a separate base, so they are counted as two pieces when listed as a set. Shown at the left is the massive banquet or master size (14-16 inches tall, 16-17 inches wide). Typically this size comes with 12 or more cups, though some with fewer. On the right is the small or table size punch set, normally with 6 cups (about 11 inches tall, 12-13 inches wide). The third size is in between these two (13 inches tall, 14-15 inches wide) and is much less often seen. In addition to this profusion of sizes, some punch bowls and some cups come in stippled versions.

Whiskey sets and component pieces are very scarce. A typical set will have the decanter and six shot glasses. The shot glasses are shaped like a tumbler, but much smaller. Pound for pound, they are some of the most expensive items in Carnival.
